Could it be that we had it exactly backward? Since 2016, Dispatches has posted lots of great jobs and news about the top employers who hire expat talent. And those posts have gotten hundreds of thousands of page views.
But that was then.
Now, in the global talent/employer dynamic, the needle has swung toward talent. “Senior full-stack developer wanted” is the most-repeated tagline for career postings on every tech community website and Facebook community page across Europe.
In Eindhoven, our headquarters city, there are at least 7,000 jobs opened at Philips, ASML, NXP and other high-tech companies. ASML, which makes the machines that make computer chips, hired 341 people in August.
Brainport, the regional economic-development effort, is working to better position the region front-of-mind with the highly skilled internationals local firms so badly need.
Clearly, demand is outstripping supply.
So, we’re experimenting with posting CVs and pitches from tech talent.
Execs at ASML, Philips and other tech companies are our readers, so we’re going to experiment with aggregating talent for them and for our Dispatches readers.
EVERYONE needs developers, especially Java and JavaScript developers, according to the number of job postings. Also in demand are people with experience in Python and relatively new programming languages such as Apple’s Swift.
