But once you’ve mastered reading the tube map, realised that the Zone fare system means you’ll be charged based on distance. So buzzing around one or two zones is cheaper than a long schlep from an outer zone to an inner city zone. Once you’ve downloaded the Citymapper onto your phone – and heeded the words of wisdom from long-time Londoners, getting around the capital of the United Kingdom won’t seem quite so daunting after all.

The grand gothic colleges, the small alleyways lined with crooked redbrick houses, old gnarled pubs, hidden bookshops, students in long black capes roaming the streets all weave an air of “olde English magick” making me feel like I have fallen into a “Harry Potter” spin-off.
Theme parks you can drive to from BerlinWhile Berlin has its fair share of what’s called “Erlebnispark” within one-hour drive around the city — check out Holland Park to the north-west, Karls Erlebnis-Dorf to the west, Irrlandia to the south-east of Berlin, Freizeitpark Germendorf to the north-west (the dinosaurs park) and the aquapark Tropical Islands again to the south-east, — those aren’t exactly classic amusement parks with lots of rides and carousels.
