The Dutch aren’t waiting around for everyone else to catch them. The Dutch government, along with Dutch energy companies Enexis and Nuon, as well as Groningen University and other sponsors, has organized what they’re billing as “the world’s largest AI and blockchain hackathon.” There will be 20 tracks, 100 teams and 200k in funding on the table.
The idea is pretty conventional: Sponsoring partners will create challenges, then become the launching customer for the winning startups by working with them in-house, or incubating/accelerating them externally.
• Fossil-free future
• Digital citizenship (look out Estonia!)
• Inclusive banking
• Future of cargo insurance
• Infrastructure for digital nations
You can see all the tracks here.
This is not just a hackathon. There are preparatory events beforehand, and incubation programs afterward. So be sure to check out the website, which is absolutely loaded with information including travel tips. Also, you have to have at least five people for your team, but the good news is, Odyssey actually has a registry, so you can pick up people if you’re short.
