CloudNine Spain has debuted its Horizon Collection, created to enable prospective buyers to build on traditionally challenging and steep plots. The contemporary, low-maintenance villa are designed to appear to float in mid-air, according to a news release.
By utilising cutting-edge, off-site construction methods, these homes can be built within 9-12 months, with minimal disruption to the natural environment and the neighbours. The villas have an A rated energy efficiency level when completed, according to the release.
The Horizon Collection by Cloud Nine Spain was created by Costa del Sol realtor and entrepreneur, Sean Woolley, in collaboration with renowned Belgian architect Gie Wollaert and off-site construction specialists, Arki-Tech.
“The three key elements for us are to create homes that are quick to build, that are energy efficient and that represent genuine value for money. And of course, they need to be spectacular,” Woolley said. The construction system means that most of the Horizon Collection homes can be built within 9-12
months, sometimes more quickly, he said.
“They all benefit from an A rated energy efficiency level, unheard of in Spain,” Woolley added. “We try to keep the selling price as low as possible, which is something we can do by marketing and selling the concept off-plan. In this way, a buyer can secure the best possible price and is able to tweak the final design to their own individual tastes.”
A different approach
Woolly recognised that many prospective buyers in the exclusive Marbella and Benahavis regions were
looking for low-maintenance villas with 300 meters square to 400 meters square in living space, natural light, an open-plan living areas and a distinctive design. By developing on sloping plots of land, Sean and his team are able to create the appearance of a house “floating” in mid-air. Some designs utilize an extended single level to create an enhanced feeling of space and light, impossible to create in traditional multi- level homes, according to the release.
“Our target market is people who want to enjoy their home in many different ways”, says Woolley. “They probably want to work from home, but they also want to live in a beautifully crafted space. They don’t want the hassle of a large garden, but want all the day-to-day life-enhancing extras such as a heated infinity pool, extensive terraces, maybe a jacuzzi, a gym or chill-out area, and, of course, glorious views.”
The homes are designed so owners can lock up and leave if the owners decide to travel.
“With our 24 years of experience in this market, we have an understanding of what people want, and we want to offer what we believe is the perfect-sized home. Not too big, not too small,” Woolley said. “No wasted space but nothing cramped. Space for home-working, space for enjoying life. We believe it’s the perfect combination.”
The first villa for sale in the collection is HORIZION 1, located in the exclusive Monte Mayor gated estate in Benahavis. Located on an elevated, sloping plot within the estate, HORIZON 1 is designed to integrate seamlessly into its environment of cork oaks, pine forests and green valleys, while offering views of the Mediterranean Sea.
The home extends to over 500m2 and will feature an upper level accommodating the expansive living space, kitchen and dining area, leading seamlessly to a spacious terrace and double-edged infinity swimming pool, while the lower level comprises of four bedroom suites, plus an additional room which could be used as an office or a further bedroom. All rooms on this level enjoy access to terraces with exceptional views. A gym area is also offered as an option.
The asking rice is 2.7 million euros.
